Across The Sea

Across The Sea
I was born when I was very young
I did not know you would come to be mine
I’m not the type who would just presume
Your heart had room for me
I’ve wasted many years on growing up
I’m still not the man I’d like to be now
But I always had you by my side
To be a friend of yours fills me with pride
And in your hour of need
I’m only just across the sea
And I can get back home to you
The learning curve has yet to straighten out
At least one part of life holds no doubt
You I’ll always carry in my heart
Even as we live so far apart
And in your hour of need
I’m only just across the sea
And I can get back home to you
And if the foot was in another shoe
I know that you would do
The same for me
That’s one of life’s riches that only comes for free
We were born when we were very young
The song of our lives remains half sung
We’ll meet for a chorus once again
When someday soon we will be men
And in your hour of need
I’m only just across the sea
And I can get back home to you

Amblin'

Amblin’
Scurrying the eye drawn
Bickering what are we
Rodents hold the upper guile
Take the ticket to the stile
Stare a while
Coloured conscious of our facts
Disturbed lest but a soul reacts
Friction growing on notes
Direction home found on remotes
It’s what this promotes
Upon the waning of the moon
We all are moved
Yet we only move so far
My dream was a transparent leaf
So beautiful the detail of the veins
They were the tracks of the soft touch of hard love
Whoever said that blood runs thicker than sap
Upon the borders of the map
We all fall into the trap
Of thinking something separates
And as we spin our plates
Some will break

Fire In The Mountain

Fire In The Mountain
They lit a fire in the mountain
Never let it go out
We sat with the dragon
We drank with the stars and smoke
The moon lit us on our way
Summer began the next day
In the fields there was music
In the fields people and trees
Oh what more could you need
There’s wood-smoke on the breeze
So far from the noise and fluorescent light
The fire in the mountain burned bright
We found the river in its bed
Ambled up to kiss at the mouth
In the water was music
In the water feet on stones
This is my kind of peace
In a place that whispers poems
So far from the noise and polluted night
The fire in the mountain burned bright
All embers turn to cold ash
We finished all the drink and we smoked that hash
In the fields there was music
In the fields people and trees
This is my kind of peace
There’s wood-smoke on the breeze

Parting
I don’t want this to leave a scar though I know we won’t be able to forget about each other oh not that I want to you know what I mean you always did but that’s not enough I’m gone.
I don’t want this to leave a scar though I know we won’t be able to forget about each other oh not that I want to you know what I mean you always did but that’s not enough I’m gone.
You know what I mean you always did but that’s not enough I’m gone.

She Moved Through The Fair
My young love said to me
My mother won’t mind
And my father won’t slight you for your lack of kind
And she stepped away from me
As this she did say
It will not be long love ‘til our wedding day
She stepped away from me
As she moved through the fair
So fondly I watched her move here and move there
And when we roved homeward
With one star awake
‘Twas like a swan in the evening moves over the lake
Last night as I lay dreaming
My dead love came in
So softly she moved that her feet made no din
And she laid her hands on me
As this she did say
It will not be long love ‘til our wedding day

Thighs Bleed

Thighs Bleed
Wet petaled bodies
Pivot of expended breath
Hearts rapt in clover
100円 Shop
Japan Centre on acid
Crazy! Monkey! Love!
Slide the length of her
Fuck deep and hard
Bodies bound love bitten thighs bleed
Crop that never fails
Information rotation
The great unlearning
Infinite surprise
Perpetual amazement
Shock awe ovation
Slide the length of her
Fuck deep and hard
Bodies bound love bitten thighs bleed
We can’t get back to Brixton
My love is with the rising sun
I inhale the dusk
But there’s a golden mean
To this fading light
Shall I meet you there
Slide the length of her
Fuck deep and hard
Bodies bound love bitten thighs bleed

Heart Holder

Heart Holder
She is my heart holder
Her hands carry me on
In the nook of neck and shoulder
Our bodies fit and we belong
Fluent is our language shape
We speak our silken tongue
Her lips electrify my nape
Our love is young
Her skin is cashmere velvet linen
Her voice the pulse of day a-quiver
Her body’s fruits lay un-forbidden
I only need a sliver
Fluent is our language shape
We speak our silken tongue
Her lips electrify my nape
Our love is young
She is the holder of my heart
Taking care with such restraint
Tender is her loving art
It’s nature’s paint

Stranger

Stranger
Dusk dark dawn and today will spawn another yawning chasm
I'll wipe off the ectoplasm of the night and yawn right back
Another aspiration will be strapped to my knee
I'll develop a limp and wimp out of the simple steps needed
To succeed at elucidating dreams
And editing reams of romance chance and circumstance
Body building nonchalance will end my slumber
As it encumbers me with a number of reasons for disquiet
I'll try it and then spit it out
It will find some way of re-entering my mouth
As the hours are looped and overdubbed at will I'll still feel duped
And grouped in with the runners of the mill
Grinding my gormless grunts into gravel
I'll unravel and meander as I continue to pander
To prophecies produced by my team of personalities
Minor insanities and wholesale calamities
Combining and conspiring to convince me I'm real
They'll weave me a blanket to help me conceal
The fear of next year next month and next week
I've only got one face and I've already turned the other cheek
But I'll stare this down at some point in the day
And be okay for a while and smile
And embrace this place and the trace of some magic dust
Or long lost lust which I trust gave rise to this playground minefield of giddy tragedy I tiptoe through and whisper in
I'll want to move and start fresh
Smelling of mint with a glint in my eye
But I spy with my little mind
A fraction of all I have yet to find
And most of that is gonna stay hidden
While my curiosity's bedridden
And decomposing and supposing I'll never change
I'll be estranged from within if I don't begin to extend my range
And leave this exile
I'll revile my declarations of expectations
And all the tender ministrations received in between will mean nought
If that thought re-occurs and slurs are heard detrimental to my elemental balance
My ears are aching and full of wax
Spatial awareness has relaxed and taken maternity leave
I believe the birth will be complex
What sex the offspring who knows
What next for me well I suppose I'll come to my senses
And my defences will flourish as I continue to nourish them
With guessing games played and unplayed and splayed apart to show the grain
As I feign pain to claim the same gain I've always garnered from this wood
It should in theory feel good
To grow weary of my one truth
And compute and dispute my path my way my journey
My roads converge and urge the inklings to grow from twinklings
Into beacons of streaming light
On the verge of a surge towards a destination

The Face On The Money

The Face On The Money
He leaves to fight for his queen
Not for his children or their mother
When he walks out that door he thinks he’s clean
That the dirt only sticks to the other
So why does he feel
That something’s deeply wrong
He made his vows to another one
And now he’s fighting for
The face on the money
She could leave to sit for peace
But that is not a profitable reason
Compassionate release
Isn’t that what they call treason?
No wonder she feels
That something’s deeply wrong
She made her vows to only one
And now he’s fighting for
The face on the money
Apprehension
Duty takes over
He’s coming home
Will he come home?
Apprehension
Duty takes over
He’s coming home
Will he come home?
Not if she hears
That something’s deeply wrong
He gave his life to that other one
And now he’s dying for
The face on the money
Why would you die for
The face on the money
Why would you die for
The symbol on the illusion

Promise
04:27
|

Promise
The first promise I ever made
I went back on
The first fire I sat around
I let it burn to the ground
That was when I still had somewhere to be found
I’m so tired of rubbing these sticks together
And telling my story again
I know all the rules they’re written on my heart
That won’t stop me from tearing them apart
They’re the same ones I broke at the start
I don’t have to put myself out
I just have to learn to burn in a different way

Hooks

Hooks
In the folds of her garments
You lose all your marbles
She’s the unforgiving kind
The lash of her tongue
Leaves your body so stung
Yet you still work on her daily grind
Her smile can speak loudly
Is it loving or proudly
Washing away your esteem
A part of you is certain
That if leaving would hurt then
To stay is to wait on a dream
Wait on a dream
Hooks sunk in
She will not ever let go
That’s not love
She’s just the devil you know
Should you break her heart
Well you could make a fresh start
And you could melt into the pot of this town
Should you remain
Well you’ll chew on your pain
In the end you’ll just swallow it down
Swallow your pride
Hooks sunk in
She will not ever let go
That’s not love
She’s just the devil you know
Cut the cord
Exchange some blues
For those years of solitude
In the whites of her eyes
You see marital ties
You lose all reason and rhyme
In the midst of her grip
You hear your will rip
And you hand over all of your precious time
Hooks sunk in
She will not ever let go
That’s not love
She’s just the devil you know
Hooks sunk in
She’s just the devil you know
That’s not love
She will not ever let go
She will not ever let go
She will not ever let go

Song For Robin
Welcome to the world
Enjoy your stay
You will learn to laugh and play
Get to know the man
You’ll keep for sure
And the woman you’ll always adore
It’s ok
You’ll learn love
And as you sleep those years away
They’re the two that will forever stay
In your heart well they made it
You’re lucky
Your father is so true
And your mother knows herself as well as you
You’ll forget that
From time to time
You’ll remember when they stay so kind
It’s ok
You’ll learn love
And as you fight those years away
They’re the two that will forever stay
In your heart well they made it
You’ve got it all to come
And you’ll know right from wrong
You’ll feel like you’ve got it all to prove
But know that you’ll always belong
‘Cos when you grow up loved
You grow up strong
When you grow up loved
You grow up strong
It’s ok
You found love
